DAY 1: Welcome Aboard - Let The Good Times Begin
Travelling from your Tour collection point to beautiful Eden in your luxury 5 Star Coach. Along the way we stop for a light lunch at one of our preferred lunch destinations. Back aboard for the relaxing drive and cheery commentary by one
of our professional Coach Tour Drivers as you arrive at your holiday destination in beautiful Eden. Your Hosts David and Lorraine Hamilton welcome you to the Halfway Motel. DAY 2: The Garden of Eden
A beautiful breakfast awaits in the motel restaurant. After breakfast we head south of Eden to the opposite side of beautiful Twofold Bay, one of the deepest and safest natural harbours in the world. We visit the Woodchip Mill (previously owned by Harris Daishowa). This international export industry is a major employer. Well have a look at Ben Boyds Tower, followed by a viewing of the Royal Australian Navy Wharf.
This wharf is big enough to turn a semi-trailer on. Lunch follows at beautiful Cocora Beach (weather permitting). This is a sheltered area kept quiet by the locals. A real treasure. Next we go to the Eden Killer Whale Museum and enjoy a guided tour with plenty to see and learn. Set on an enviable piece of real estate youll also enjoy the view. A tour of Eden with our own personal tour guide is next. Youll learn the history of Eden not found in any history book. Back home to the Halfway Motel for pre-dinner drinks and another superb dinner in our in-house restaurant.
DAY 3: Tilba - Living History, Cheese and Wine
Breakfast is enjoyed in the motel restaurant. We board the coach for an early start to travel to historic Tilba Tilba, a National Trust village.
Step back in time and visit the many old shops of a by-gone era. Next well enjoy morning tea and strolling through the 3 ½ acre gardens at Foxglove Spire Gardens - a 100 year old cottage. (The gardens themselves were voted one of Australias best by Bourkes Backyard). Heading 5km North well visit Tilba Valley Wines for a hearty Ploughmans Lunch and wine tasting. After lunch we travel back down the coast to Bega. Well visit the famous Bega Cheese Factory and try some tasty cheeses. Returning to Eden, youll have time to relax and enjoy pre-dinner drinks followed by your evening meal.
DAY 4: Wharves, Waves and Whales
Another breakfast in paradise. Frangipanis and Hibiscus set the mood. On the coach to the Eden Wharf where we board the NEW 16 metre Cat Balou catamaran for a 2 hour discovery cruise around the beautiful Twofold Bay. Visit the Cat Balou Web site http://www.catbalou.com.au/
See dolphins, seals and sometimes penguins. Migrating whales are a spectacular sight during October and November. Morning tea is enjoyed on board. After disembarking we take a leisurely drive north to Pambula to visit Toad Hall before continuing on to Merimbula. Next we drive to Tathra along the Sapphire Coast Drive where well have lunch at the very popular Bega Dried Foods. Whilst here youll enjoy an informative talk on the dried food industry followed by some sampling. Following lunch youll enjoy a tour of the Tathra township which sits on a beautiful stretch of coastline. We leave Tathra and head inland to Kameruka for a tour of the Kameruka Estate. This very Old English Style Country Estate is owned and operated by the Tooth family who are well known for their brewing activities. After the tour well return home to Eden via the country lanes of Candelo and Wollumla. Dinner in the motel restaurant.![]()
DAY 5: Mallacoota, World War II and Back
Breakfast awaits in the motel restaurant. We start the day with a leisurely scenic drive to Mallacoota, just over the Victorian border. Enjoy a short tour of Mallacoota township followed by morning tea. Fascinating history is next as we visit the historic and well kept World War Two Operations Bunker. This piece of history is sure to leave you speechless with the information it obtained as a functional operations bunker during the second World War. The intelligence relates directly to coastal activities in this area involving both enemy and allied ships & aircraft. Just up the road we veer off and stop for a bush bar-b-que lunch. Whilst surrounded by native flora and fauna well enjoy a quintessential Aussie feast.
Back on the coach to meet up with our local forestry guide to take us on a forest management tour. Youll see first hand the efforts being made to preserve the natural Australian bush. On the return drive we stop off at Ben Boyds historic Seahorse Inn. A short history lesson and the opportunity to purchase an ale or two. After a wonderful day we head back to our home away from home to refresh and get ready for our farewell dinner. Tonights the night - a theme night and lots of fun ensue.
DAY 6: Homeward Bound
A healthy and wholesome breakfast awaits to send you on your way. David and Lorraine will board the coach and say goodbye just prior to your departure on a safe journey home. On the way back to your initial starting point we will provide you with morning tea and a light lunch. Lastly, home in time for dinner.
